Course Description:

Explore effective teaching in the TCOLE #1014 Basic Instructor Course. Hosted by Jersey Village Police Department and led by Cpl. Johnston from LCSO, this 40-hour program covers teaching-learning dynamics, lesson planning, instructional methods, and evaluation techniques.

Successful completion qualifies you for a TCOLE Instructor Proficiency certificate application.

Bring your note-taking materials, laptop, and a flash drive to dive into this impactful learning journey.

This course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements #1014.



Prerequisites:
Two years’ experience as a peace officer, telecommunicator, or jailer; or a bachelor’s degree and two years of teaching experience; or a graduate degree.


Audience:
Currently commissioned Texas peace officers
